We’re delighted to share that our partnership with leading European feed company ForFarmers has been covered across multiple industry publications — and announced directly by ForFarmers on their own website — a strong signal of just how significant this collaboration is for both organisations and the wider sector.
Announced in December 2024, the two companies have signed a letter of intent to work together in the UK, with ForFarmers serving as knowledge partner to explore how microalgae cultured by Remediiate can be developed into a practical and sustainable ingredient for animal feed.
At the heart of the project is Remediiate’s modular, plug-and-play bioreactor system, which captures CO₂ directly from industrial flue stacks and uses it to accelerate microalgae growth — producing a protein-rich material that offers a circular, home-grown alternative to imported crops like soya. The pilot, Project LightARC, is already operational at the Vale Nickel Refinery in Swansea, in partnership with Swansea University’s RICE programme.
ForFarmers COO Rob Kiers described the partnership as “an important step towards a more sustainable future,” adding that by using microalgae to sequester CO₂, the collaboration creates value for the animal feed industry while contributing to a more circular and sustainable future.
