Remediiate Named as Global Competitor in International Fish-Free Feed Challenge

We’re proud to share that Remediiate has been named as one of just six competitors worldwide in the F3 Challenge – Carnivore Edition, a prestigious international competition offering $100,000 to teams developing innovative substitutes for fishmeal and fish oil in aquaculture feeds.

The F3 Challenge — backed by leading aquaculture and sustainability organisations — aims to make the use of wild-caught fish in animal feeds unnecessary, addressing an urgent global problem. Each year an estimated 16 million tonnes of wild fish are caught solely for use as fishmeal and fish oil, a practice that could push forage fisheries to their ecological limits by 2037.

Remediiate entered the competition in the shrimp category, growing microalgae at scale as a sustainable, protein-rich feed ingredient — and was actively seeking product development partners to formulate a finished feed for the challenge. The other five registered competitors included companies from the US, Ecuador, India, and China, placing Remediiate firmly on the global stage for alternative feed innovation.

Being selected as a competitor in the F3 Challenge is a strong validation of Remediiate’s potential to disrupt not just carbon capture, but the global animal feed supply chain — and a further demonstration of how our technology addresses two of the world’s most pressing challenges at once.
